Provides intensive levels of professional intervention for persons whose acuity allows them to reside in local community while receiving treatment for their addiction. Includes individual, group, and family counseling in addition to Disease Education, Coping Skills Training and Relapse Prevention. Normally 4 days a week, 3 hours per session. IOP can be a point of entry or as step down from Detoxification, Residential and Partial Hospitalization levels of care. Driven by acuity. Maybe combined with MAT services.
