At Evolve Women’s Recovery we believe in the importance of developing a positive relationship with physical sensations.  Addiction takes a person out of their body and prevents them from connecting to who they are physically and feeling what their body is telling them.  Yoga is a great way to slowly reintroduce someone to physical sensation. It’s also very relaxing, so in terms of the anxiety, stress, and depression that arise from detox, it’s invaluable in helping people stay calm and grounded.

Our trauma-sensitive, mindfulness-based yoga programming offers people in recovery from substance use and mental health disorders the opportunity to participate in mindful movement, breathing exercises and guided rest while in treatment. Yoga for recovery is truly a practical resource and we believe that individuals have the power to take their wellbeing into their own hands.
